Wiki Intranet by Case Western Reserve

Case Western Reserve University has a beta wiki that looks nicely fleshed out at this point - lots of good ideas for schools and enterprise organizations alike to consider. In addition, Jeremy Smith (a student?) has a blog post about his impressions and references to some specific wiki pages on the Case site. All in all, a great example of how an organizational intranet can evolve. This is from the intro paragraph on the site's Main Page:

There is no limit on what can be posted here. Any individual with a Case network ID can create or edit any page in this wiki and anonymous individuals can edit discussion pages. Currently, there are 471 substantial articles and 254 uploaded files.

Upon reading that statement, one would think the site would be an ugly hodge-podge of graffiti. Au contraire - look at the categories on the Main Page and realize that the entire site is being developed and maintained by any individual with a Case network ID.  Consider how much more information is being shared, how much more current it is, and how much more cost-effective this is than the typical content management approach.

Check out how nicely the Recent Changes guides the reader to the most current information - great job.
